I have been waiting for this Oscars watch party since we found out about it! We love the Tampa Theatre almost as much as we love watching movies. I don’t normally watch the Oscars but I love a good dress-up party and since we were attending this event we made a point to watch a lot of the Oscar noms ahead of time. This made the awards ceremony so much more interesting & we even stayed till the end.
Oscars Watch Party Event Description
Tampa Theatre does their Hollywood Awards Night event every year. Which is great news for us, because we thoroughly enjoyed & are already planning for next year. The base tickets (only $25 per person) included free popcorn, water, soft drinks all night, a pre-watch party limo ride, a walk on the red carpet (with paparazzi & fans) plus free coffee & donuts at the end. The next level ticket ($55 per person) added on 2 drink tickets, assigned seat in mezzanine & concierge drink to your seat. Top tier ticket ($150 per person) added on a VIP Party Deck with open beer, wine signature cocktail until 11:00pm from the exclusive deck-side bar, casual lounge seating and a catered buffet dinner. Swanky! We opted for the base tickets because we prefer to sit in the balcony & knew we wouldn’t drink enough for 4 drink tickets. Honestly, this might be the best $50 we have ever spent!
What I Wore
I lucked into this dress while we were shopping at the TJMaxx in Chattanooga. It was $25, ya’ll! Original price is around $450 or so. It’s available at Amazon for around $300 currently. And there is a similar option at Abercrombie & Fitch for $150. (The cut-outs make this one a real stunner!)
I went between wearing a white faux fur jacket & this blazer/vest/cape hybrid, thrifted from Goodwill. I ended up going with the blazer because it is just so interesting, while not hogging the spotlight completely because of the (non) color. This keeps it firmly in fashionista territory (with the pop of red!), whereas the fur would have pushed it into the complete over the top glam genre. Both would have worked though!
The shoes are a Goodwill find as well. I never thought they would leave the house, because they are so high haha. (I packed a pair of flat sandals which I wore a lot of the time tbh. Which, btw, is why I had to carry such a big purse!)
The necklace is from TJMaxx, purchased for our vow renewal back in May 2022 & I was psyched to pull it out again. The standout earrings were borrowed from my friend, Amber, that joined us. I got compliments on them all night!
